BEFORE CLASS

• ¿A qué hora comienza la clase? What time does the class START?
• ¿Dónde está mi aula? Where is my CLASSROOM?
• ¿Cuál es tu horario? -What is your SCHEDULE (US)/ TIMETABLE (UK)?
• ¿Qué estudias? What are you STUDYING?
• ¿Cuántas asignaturas tienes? How many SUBJECTS do you have?
• ¿Es X (asignatura) difícil? Is X a difficult SUBJECT?
• ¿A qué hora tienes Educación Física? What time is PE? What time do we have GYM?
• ¿Quién va ser el profesor/a de esta asignatura? Who is going to be the SUBJECT teacher?

DURING CLASS

• Voy a pasar lista– I’m going to CALL THE ROLL
• ¿Ya han pasado lista?- Have they CALLED THE ROLL yet?
• ¿Quién falta?- Who’s MISSING?
• X tiene gripe/está enfermo. Ayer se sentía mal . Tenía fiebre-X is DOWN WITH THE FLU, IS ILL/SICK. Yesterday he was feeling UNDER THE WEATHER. He had A FEVER.
• X, por favor, pasa a la pizarra – Please, go to the BLACKBOARD/BOARD/WHITEBOARD
• X, por favor, limpia la pizarra– Please, clean the BLACKBOARD/BOARD
• Vamos a trabajar en parejas/grupos -We’re going to work IN PAIRS/GROUPS
• X, por favor, lea el primer párrafo del libro. X, please READ the first paragraph.
• La “tarea” para mañana es…..The ASSIGNMENT for tomorrow is. Nota: La palabra “assignment” es mucho más utilizada que “homework” en la universidad.
• Os voy a dar unos deberes- I’m going to send you some HOMEWORK

AFTER CLASS or ANYTIME

• ¿Dónde comes? Where do you usually HAVE LUNCH?
• Iremos a la biblioteca a estudiar– We’ll study at the LIBRARY
• ¿Para cuándo hay que entregar el trabajo? When do we have to HAND IN the paper/work/ project?
• ¿Qué tenemos para mañana? What do we HAVE FOR TOMORROW?
• Mañana tenemos examen -Tomorrow we have an EXAM
• ¿Cuál es la nota más alta? -What is the highest GRADE (US), MARK (UK)?
• Soy alumno de 4º curso. I am a 4th grade student.
• Quedamos después de clase para hacer los deberes? - Shall we meet after class to do homework?
